Checkers VS Chess?

I only play chess and have never tried checkers. Would checkers be like backing up now that I learned chess?

Not really as long as you still play chess. playing checkers is just  learning something new. maybe playing checkers will help you play chess.

Checkers is simplier than chess, therefore easier. If u already know how to play Chess, Checkers will be definately easy.

no its different, still fun. if u want a challenge try shogi (japanese chess).

unlike our chess its more defensive and a very late game, game.

The only similarities between chess and checkers is the board and they both start with a c.

Checkers is a simple game. Chess gets very complicated the better you get... So if you are wondering if you would take a step back as far as challenging goes, most defianately.

I think that checkers can be equally as challenging depending on your partner.  They require different skills-but I do think chess does require somewhat of more advanced thought.

Yes checkers would be like backing up compared to chess. If you want to try something different but uses the same thinking capacity as chess, try "Go"

If you want to move up with regards to game complexity and strategy, learn the game of Go.  It's called Wei Chi in China, Baduk in Korea and Igo in Japan.  

It's thousands of times more complex than Chess.  Yes, checkers would be a step backwards.  Learn about the game of Go.

yes my three year old nephew can play checkers, he can barlet talk.... its so easy- stick with chess. It challenges youre mind more

Whenever, I play any game with someone I ask them...  Do you play chess?  If they say no.....  then I laugh and know that I have the upperhand (even if we are just playing Uno)    

I think that overall, Knowing how to play chess should just make you a better player in any game, including checkers, so go for it!  Expplore and beat the pants of tons of people, and the next time you go to play checkers with someone, pause before starting and say offhand, do you know how to play chess?  and when they laugh and say no it is too hard and complicated, have a certain sense of pride knowing you are about to beat their pants off......
