well i had a pap oct 07 it came back and said i was at a low risk for the hpv virus but i dont know how that could have happened but my doctor told me it was probably due to a infection that didnt clear up all the way...i had another pap in april and my dr didnt say i had anything...(2 different drs one in oct took place in tx and the one in apr took place in Ga but the dr in GA got the results from the 1 in TX) but the dr said he want to do a colopsy??(sp) and i decided to wait until after the baby...i was wondering will the results come normal when i get admitted into the hospital to have the baby before he's born or just wait until weeks after...the dr said its my decision on wha i want to do..thanks

  1. i would wait until after baby is born. i had an abnormal pap at my 6 week check after bub was born and received treatment.  after baby is born is a good time to check because pregnancy can also cause changes to ur cervix. if the dr was concerned he would have told u to have the colposcopy sooner rather than later. generally cervical cancer can take up to 10 years to develop., thats why we usually have pap smears every 2 years so any changes can be detected.

  2. I had the same virus, within 6mnts it turned into CIN1 and because i am young (was 22) my gyno wanted to remove it so it didnt get worse, if you just have the virus, it can come and go, so you may not even have it, but if you do, it needs to be watched because it can turn into cancer so fast, depending on how far along you are in the pregnancy i would still have it tested to be on the safe side!
