I forgot a password that I changed at around 3am. Is it possible to check the hard drive and look for the time to see what I typed as my password ? Help!

  1. Sorry, that is not possible.

    You have three options.

    1. Think really hard and try to remember the password.

    2. This one only works on windows xp home edition. Boot into safe mode by repeatedly pressing the f8 button when windows boots up. Hit the administrator account and reset the password in the control panel. Reboot and then your good to go.

    3. Use an ophcrack live cd. Get it here:

    http://ophcrack.sourceforge.net/

Then download infra recorder from here: http://infrarecorder.sourceforge.net/ , install it, open it, go to the actions>burn image, find the downloaded iso file and burn it to a cd.

Then use this guide to make sure the cd drive is checked first by the bios when the computer starts up.

Ophcrack should return your password within 10 minutes.

  2. Hi can you tell me what password that you make?Is it a windows password or what???
