Checklist before having a baby?

Is it stupid to have a checklist of things we want to do before we have our first child? We both want a baby so bad, but we have decided there are certain things we want to do before we start trying, like travel, get a new car and a new apartment, etc. Thoughts?

that is one of the smartest ideas i have heard so far.  if you stick to you check list before having a baby you will enjoy your child soooo much more.

I guess it all depends on   what you feel is more important at this stage in your life if your still in your early to mid 20s then definitly do these thing because lets face it children do change our lifestyles and the decisions we make after we have them.

If your in your 30s just don't forget that the older you are the harder it is to get pregnant.   After the age of 35 fertility drops dramamtically especially if you have never been pregnant and IVF is far more successful in younger women than older ones  Also there are more complications associated with pregnancies after the age of 35 and as you head towards 40.

Basiscally it all comes down to what is right for you at this stage in your life.
