Cheerful Star to steer the Grade A2 480 metres flat his way at Perry Barr
Cheerful Star is expected to shine the brightest in the Grade A2 480 metres flat race on Tuesday, 17th July. He will have to share the track with Barracuda Jed, Soviet Rosa, Overdale Roman, Pretty Spot and Ballasalla Luke. The prize money at stake is £67.
Disguised’s son cracked into the new season on 6th January, 2012 in the Grade A3 480 metres flat race at Perry Barr, and did not take time to conquer it. He set into an early pace, raced towards the rails, took on to the middle and then led from the fourth position. He rested the race in 29.07 seconds and won by the margin of a length.
Qualifying as the runner-up and settling right after was, Carlow Mist.
The five-year-old black dog out of b***h, Dutch Boomerang, won the Grade A3 Steve Richmond’s Last Night Of Freedom Stakes on 28th January at Perry Barr over 480 metres.
The favourite entry of the race was running towards the rails after leashing out from the second stall and then switched to middle. His paced got obscured but it did not take him very long to lead and time the track distance in 29.28 seconds.
He won by the margin of ¾ of a length and had Droopys Ego settling as the runner-up.
The last two races of the J. Lambe trained were a back-to-back. The five-year-old won the Grade A4 Owners’ Bonus Series Heat 1 on 22nd June, 2012 at Perry Barr.  After racing by the rails and then moving on from the middle, the black dog got crowded but broke free in time to make it to the wire in 29.05 seconds.
Cheerful Star led by ¾ of a length and finishing the closest behind him was, Harlenas Zena.
He then monopolised the Grade A4 Owners’ Bonus Series Final on 29th June, 2012 at Perry Barr over 480 metres. The race was won on almost the precedent set in the previous race. He gained a margin of half a length by following the similar approach and timed the track distance in 29.22 seconds.
His chances of striking a hat-trick tonight are explosive.
