I coach a cheerleading team with girls that have ages ranging from 14-16. I need ideas that will help build team unity and bonding. Something fun and that can be done at practice. thanks!

  1. Do some type of relay where each girl has an independent task to complete, but the best team time wins. That way they each have to rely on each others abilities and will have to work together as well.

Also, we always did a "ships and sailors" game at cheer camp, it is been a while, but the leader would call out terms like "ships" (every one ran to the left side) and "sailors" (everyone ran to the right), "3 men rowing" they sat down in groups of 3 and pretended to row a boat), "hit the deck" (lay down on the floor) anyone who didn't do as asked or didn't have a group of 3 to join was out (after 3 seconds). There were all kinds of silly terms and things to do. I am sure you can look it up online.

  2. we do this thing, where you have two boards that are long enough that every girl on the squad can stand on it. you have to hook ropes to the board, and you have to walk together. if one person doesn't put their foot up when instructed, then then won't move.
