Cheerleading & Tumbling Q.!?

My cousin's in cheerleading and she's only like 12 and she wants to start taking tumbling for cheerleading, is that to old for her to start that?

  1. She should be fine if she really works at it. Here are some drills she can work on daily: http://aescougarcheer.com/Cheer101/tumbl... She should also get into a class so she can learn in a safe environment with a qualified spotter.


  2. Your cousin is not too old to take tumbling.

    Depending on the gym she takes lessons from she may be around younger children, but there are a lot of people (like me) who started tumbling even later.

    She may have to work a little harder to catch up to the girls her own age, but if tumbling is something she really wants to do, then I am sure that will not be a problem.


  3. No.  I was older than that when I started.  

  4. No way!  Doing a tumbling class will really help her.  If she can do it a a gymnastics center, that even better because it will help her learn good form, making it a lot safer! (some cheerleaders do have really good form, but the ones I know just focus on chucking the skill, and think that it's perfect if they don't hit their head)
