  1. Tanya gave you some good info on backspotting. If you need to know what to do for specific stunts, Cheerwiz and Varsity are very helpful for learning more advanced stunts.

To improve jumps you have to do them several times a day, after you stretch. Since your stretching doesn't seem to be helping much check and see if you are warming up enough. If you aren't sweating, you aren't warmed up which means instead of  stretching muscles you are probably stretching tendons and ligaments. Try to stretch four times a day if you can.

You can find helpful stretches, jump tips, and a stunt progression checklist here: http://search.yahoo.com/search;_ylt=A0ge...

Good luck. Work hard and eventually you will see improvements.

  2. Make sure you squeeze her ankles really hard. It helps your flyer become more stable in the stunt. Also, when you're about to go up, push her butt up as hard as you can (remember: up, not forward) and grab onto her ankles immediately as soon as it hits the top. Make sure you don't back out of the stunt. Stay underneath the flyer and get as close to the bases as possible to give her more support and make it easier on the bases. If the flyer is doing a full down or double down, twist her ankles the direction she goes to help her get around. And remember when she comes down, pop her up high. Be careful not to smack your flyer in the face when you cradle. When she falls, catch her underneath her arms with your hands down by her stomach instead of up by her face. For doubles/full downs if she doesn't open up, catch her by bear hugging her.

Basket tosses are similar. Just push her butt up instead of forward (as hard as you can).

For your jumps, flexibility is a minor part of jumps. It's mainly your leg muscles pushing off the floor to get higher and your abdominals pulling your legs higher. Work on your legs and core muscles and the only way to get jumps higher is to actually do them! Ankle weights help a lot. Stick with 1 pound ankle weights, do your jumps, remove them, and do the same jumps. You'll be able to feel the difference right away.

A toe-touch is not a split in the air. Many people think it is, but it's actually a straddle jump with your pelvis tilted up by squeezing your abs so your legs point toward the ceiling.

(there is no way someone's middle split can be over-extended like that, which proves my point)
