  1. Yes, you can start doing competitive cheerleading at your age. However, you may want to join a tumbling class to work on your tumbling. Most squads that accept 13 or 14 year olds will want to make sure that you have at least a basic round-off to join a junior level squad. You should check the website for the vancouver all stars and decide which team you want to try-out for (that is, if they have multiple level teams) - there is always a tumbling requirement depending on your skill level. You will go further in cheerleading if you know how to tumble well so take it seriously.

    Good luck!

  2. i would reccomend joining gynastics first if you want to do flips , but otherwise if you're in dance normally dance studios offer a teen cheerleading class of some sort.. join that so you can practice. Sometimes just even asking your friends for help would be good because  a lot of girls know how to cartwheels and other basic flips and gymnastics.

  3. i would say do gymnastics not cheerleading.  you learn a lot more and its a lot better in my opinion.

  4. the ymca has summer programs that teach you flips and that sort of thing.

  5. take tumbling/gymnastics.

    =D

  6. i would suggest you start with proper breathing....z....

  7. hi I coach junior high cheering and my daughter did all stars. all the all star gyms have  people qualified to teach you the flips and tumbling . They will teach you right and within a month or so you will be tumbling guru. go for it have fun join all stars all star teams usually only practice a few times a week.

But they  do go to competitions.  but so ,much fun and all worth it/ college scholarship chances and more.

Also, if you or one of your friends have a tampoline you can practice on there. Also, the gymnastics classes are about $45.00 a month. But some classes are a little bit more.
