Cheers - what is the translation for Hau Weg Die Schiesse?

I met a group of Germans in Thailand and I gather this is the vulgar alternative to Prost, but what does it mean?

My German isn't great but I can tell you that

Hau = to hit

Weg = hard

Die = the

Schiesse = a shot or to shoot

It actually means "Get rid of the sh*t", however those vulgar proverbial language cannot be translated word by word.

Eat it up that S*H*I*T. But that is not a wordly translation. "Hau weg" means "cut away (a tree with an axe)--- break down (a wall with a hammer). "Hau weg" is also used in pub, and there is some one a little late for the next "Runde".

It's really what LaFeeFan said, it means "get rid of the sh*t", but in a humorous way to say "cheers", or "Prost". I don't actually remember how that got so famous here in Germany, but it was mostly by cartoons. A cartoon figure called "Werner" used to say that in a cinema movie (which was rated age 12, afaik), and since then, the whole of Germany remembers "Hau wech die Scheiße". It's from northern Germany, actually, but it made its way to the South.
