  1. a great way to preserve cheese is how the Italians do it and thats wrap its in cotton then seal it in a container. Put it in cool dry place and it should last for a good week.

    Make sure you clean your hands and sterialise the knife before cutting the cheese and less bacteria will effect it.

  2. wrap it in freshly peeled animal or fish skin and salt it

  4. There are some cheeses like Laughing Cow cheese that need no refrigeration. Hard cheeses like parmesan would be safest wrapped well and in a cool dry place.  

  5. Air tight packaging. A seal-a-meal type machine might help.  Be sure to remove all the air before sealing.  Keep in a cool place.

  6. Dipped in wax is how they did it for centuries.
