Cheese fondue equipment vs. hot oil fondue equipment?

could i use the oil fondue equipment i have to make cheese fondue or chocolate fondue?

  1. The ceramic insert that comes with some fondue pots helps to keep cheese and chocolate from scorching.  The inserts sits in a water bath inside the fondue pot.  

    To use your fondue pot without an insert, you should make the fondue on the stovetop first and then add it to your fondue pot.  Keep the heat as low as possible on the fondue pot.  You will have to stir your fondue constantly to keep it from scorching on the bottom.

  2. Yep.  If it gets hot enough to heat up oil, it's hot enough to melt cheese.  Try not to burn the cheese in the pot and allow it to get to hot.
