Does it cease to be a cheese sandwich once you have scoffed the cheese? And when continuing to eat the remainder, would it be legitimate to conclude that you are still finishing a cheese sandwich, or would it be inaccurate. As by that point you may consider the food to be merely some bread and butter.

  1. nah, i think it's not a cheese sandwich anymore but if you stick the slices of buttered bread back together to eat it then it's a butter sandwich :P

  2. Hm...  as "a connoisseur" if you eat  the cheese by itself then it's called " la raclette".  Therefore it's not longer a cheese sandwich.  But you can always take the bread and butter dip it in the remaining cheese then you have " a fondue".  That's accurate.  At that point, I consider the food to be French.

PS...You may want to add "a delicatessen" on the side such as Escarg....... Well you can finish the rest. =D

    Enjoy!

  3. and if you eat the lettuce off a Big Mac it's a salad?

To paraphrase Freud: "Sometimes a cheese sandwich is just a cheese sandwich" It hit the plate a cheese sandwich and thats what you eat. When you get up to leave, what's still on the plate are leftovers.

Based in the logic in your question, when you eat the sandwich, you're not that same person that ordered the cheese sandwich. Cells have died, new cells have been born, water has left as sweat and you're a bit closer to death. Should we demand an ID card?
