Cheetah and Senada to meet again in the La Prevoyante Handicap at Calder Race Course
The 16 to 1 longshot, Senada swoop past his opponents to take the $125,000 Rood and Riddle Dowager Stakes at Keeneland on 23 October, 2011. The 4-year-old filly pinned down the likes of Upperline, who homed in with purpose but her late run wasn’t enough
to affect the outcome of the race.
In Dowager, the 3rd placed Cheetah, another 4-year-old filly in the one and a half mile race, is pointed toward the Grade 3, $100,000 La Prevoyante Handicap at Calder Casino & Race Course on 2 December, 2011.
Robert Scarborough’s Cheetah will be accompanied by the Rood and Riddle Dowager Stakes winner Senada in the La Prevoyante Handicap, and this opportunity will serve as a second chance for Cheetah to settle the Dowager score.
The Grade 3 La Prevoyante Handicap’s lineup consists of eleven three-year-old and above fillies and mares, which will run over a distance of one and a half mile.
Trained by Barclay Tag for owner Lael Stables, Senada had a dry spell right after breaking her maiden back in 2010 at Gulfstream Park over a mile. She was unable to land a single race for 10 consecutive races, but on the 11th race the filly snapped
the losing streak.
The Kentucky bred daughter of Pulpit, out of mare Owsley by Harlan, Senada covered the one and a half mile distance in Dowager in 2 minutes and 31.19 seconds.
On the other hand the Great Britain bred daughter of Tiger Hill, out of mare Kassiyra by Kendor, Cheetah won the Grade 3 Robert G. d**k Memorial on turf at Del Mar.
The race was run over a distance of 1 3/8 miles as Cheetah topped that distance in 2 minutes and 13.13 seconds to defeat Bubbly Jane in second and Dyna Waltz in third on 9 July, 2011.
Finished an unplaced ninth in her next start in the Grade 1 Beverly D. Stakes at Arlington Park. Cheetah will be under Rajiv Maragh and she will break from post number 10.
Edgar Prado will ride Senada in the pack field of 11 fillies and mare and the pair will break from post number 3.
