Cheik Tiote signs new contract with Newcastle – Premier League update
Cheik Tiote has inked a new contract with the Magpies for six and a half years. The contract that ends after the 2017 season is assumed to be valued at a sum of £50,000 per week.
Tiote joined Newcastle in the summer transfer window from the Dutch club http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Twente-c39233. He was signed for a fee of £3.5 million into the English Premier League. Alan Pardew, the Newcastle boss was happy to conclude a deal with the promising Ivory Coast player,
who has impressed him with his all-action displays in the middle of the field.
Pardew praised the player saying, "Cheik has been immense for us this season and is exactly the type of player I want in my squad. He is fantastic on the pitch and in the changing room and is vital for everything we want to achieve. Cheik offers us strength
and presence in midfield and has proved himself to be one of the best in his position in the Premier League. He's adapted brilliantly to the English game and I'm delighted he's signed a new deal with us."
Tiote is more than happy to pledge his long-term future at St James' Park club, having savored his initial six months in the English Premier League. He has been conventional at the centre of the midfield with Kevin Nolan, the captain.
The 24-year-old midfielder has given brilliant performances in his nineteen appearances for the season. He was one of the contributors in the 4-4 draw with the Gunners when the Magpies fought to equalise the game.
Talking about his experience in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 and the league Tiote said, "The experience of playing in the Premier League has been better than I ever hoped it could be. This is a great club and the fans have been brilliant - I have never known support like it."
Tiote has made 19 league appearances for the Magpies this season, scoring one goal, which was a 25-yard volley into the back of the net, to help his side grab a stunning 4-4 draw with Arsenal in the start of February.
