Chelsea after Ancelotti and the revolution to stop Abramovich's blues – EPL debate
Ever since Roman Abramovich took over Chelsea, their performances have neither really been termed as dismal nor have they lacked spine like they did in the season ended. The Blues started off well. But soon after that, their show of skills (or lack thereof)
was both boring to the eyes and mundane. For the fans of the London club, it was sheer disappointment. To their great surprise, Chelsea managed to find themselves with a late resurgence in the latter half of the season. They ultimately finished as the second
best team in the English Premier League.
Up until his firing, Carlo “The Don” Ancelotti was an acclaimed manager with Chelsea. But as the season was drawing to a close it seemed that he had given up the fight much before he should have. The team was obviously without spirit and lacked any game
plan. Chelsea’s entire strategy has revolved around getting the ball to Drogba. That is fine as long as he is on song. But as Drogba hit the rough patch this season, Chelsea Football Club did not have a plan that they could fall back on.
The Russian owner surely seems to have a plan to counter to his blues. In fact, Ancelotti’s sacking is definitely part of a bigger plan that he carries. He is all set for a facelift for his club. It is imperative to do just that before the team implodes.
Last time around, when Jose Mourinho was let go, Abramovic persisted with the personnel. This time around, however, he understands that his side needs a complete overhaul. They need to come up with a more potent strike force. They looked without a clue every
time they seemed to be near the box. The story with Chelsea’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Defence-c38904 was no different. They did not have dribblers any more. Those who knew how to, like Malouda, seemed to be suffering from amnesia this season.
Chelsea are badly in need of Neymar. Drogba’s failure was ultimately Torres’s failure too, or vice versa. Neymar is a strong dribbler. He will be able to complement Torres who is now the star in Chelsea’s lineup.
The Blues are also looking to rope in the brilliant attacker. The price has been tipped to be a whooping £35 million. They are already in a tug of war with Manchester United and the race for the coveted signature of Wesley Sneijder is definitely on.
With http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wesley-Sneijder-c36799 pulling the strings like a puppeteer, it makes an exciting lineup for Chelsea. Just the mention of their names excites the football fans. Time and
time again, they all have proven their http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Skills-c40539 with the ball.
Earlier this month, Chelsea placed a price tag of £20 million for the young English striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-c9879 Andre Sturridge to ward any potential buy requests. Sturridge has been playing for Bolton on loan for the latter half of the season. In a more subdued role
Sturridge can still prove that he can still score. He is in their future plans for Chelsea and ends the unpredictability that has haunted the Chelsea team all this season. As players, both Sturridge and Neymar are more like Torres. The three are so rich in
talent that they actually have the potential to become the most feared strike force for years to come. Add http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786.
There have been rumours back and forth for Modric to be leaving White Hart Lane.
In the post Mourinho and Ancelotti Chelsea, Abramovic needs to start a mini revolution from within the Blues to give the club a new identity and renewed hopes to the fans.
