English Premier League sides http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 and Queens Park Rangers have urged their respective supporters to refrain from abuse and discrimination ahead of their upcoming FA Cup clash.
The game which will be held on Saturday will be the first time Chelsea skipper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314 in the
Premier League in October.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 captain was charged with racially abusing Ferdinand during the game and has been summoned to court on the 1st of February. While Terry has denied the allegation, there is speculation over whether or not the two will shake hands before
kickoff.
The two clubs however have shown a united front against the claims and revealed they wanted the upcoming game to be a celebration of football rather than a competition between opposing fans in terms of chants and slogans.
Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck and his counterpart at Queens Park Rangers http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Tony-c35440 Fernandes released a joint statement regarding the incident. The two claimed that “abuse and discrimination has no place in football or society,” which is why it should be kept out.
The statement read:
We have discussed the issues surrounding this weekend's FA Cup fourth-round tie at Loftus Road and we are both in total agreement that abuse and discrimination has no place in football or society. 
Both clubs enjoy fantastic support. However, we would remind fans that while we want to hear their passion, it's a fact that hatred and abuse is not what being a fan of Chelsea or QPR is about.”
The statement further asked all the supporters to work together to ensure no discriminatory action was used during the fixture. They revealed the police was working closely with both the clubs to ensure no further incident took place during the upcoming
match over the weekend.
It continued:
“A local derby is always a special occasion and this weekend's FA Cup tie is a unique opportunity to show the world that hatred has no place in our game, our clubs, or our communities.”
