There have been reports linking FC Porto forward http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Didier-Drogba-c11044.
Drogba, who had been at the club for eight, long, prosperous years, decided to make a Stamford Bridge exit after leading the London side to a FA Cup and their first UEFA Champions League trophy. His departure has left a massive hole in the Chelsea squad.
Even though the Blues have a hit-man in the form of Spaniard http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707, the 28-year-old has so far proven to be ineffective. It seems Chelsea are currently on the look-out for a new striker, who can successfully replace Didier Drogba in front of the
oppositions goal.
Amongst their options is Hulk. The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186 striker was initially linked with Chelsea when young Portuguese manager Andre Villas-Boas took charge of the club in the summer of 2011. He was expected to bring his best players with him, but the move did not
go through.
However, a year later and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-c31294 Di Matteo, the Blues are looking to further strengthen their squad and after Eden Hazard’s confirmation, are aiming to sign Hulk.
The Blues are reportedly not the only side interested in signing Hulk, with the likes of Real Madrid and other top European sides also interested. The player’s agent Teodoro Fonseca confirmed that Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho had been at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brazil-c2858’s win
over http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Denmark-c2884 this Saturday.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fonseca-c13888 said in an interview:
“Jose Mourinho was not there for a stroll. Mourinho was in Hamburg to see several players and, of course, he also went to see Hulk. It was he who stood out.”
If that is indeed the case then Chelsea can expect to face stiff competition from Real Madrid for the Brazil forward. Hulk has some amazing statistics, with 166 appearances in all competitions for FC Porto, 76 goals and 55 assists. He is yet to comment on
his future, but has strongly been linked with a move to the English Premier League.
