Chelsea better off without £41 million Santos striker Neymar, eye Romelu Lukaku, Radamel Falcao and Kevin de Bruyne
Neymar’s agent http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wagner-c36524 Ribeiro told English Premier League giants Chelsea that they would have to pay £41 million if they wished to secure the services of the 19-year-old Santos striker.
The Blues have been attempting to sign the Brazilian forward since last summer but have been unable to do so.
Neymar claimed last season that he did not wish to make a move to Chelsea, where he was certain he would not be guaranteed first team football.
However, he recently claimed he wanted to move to London and hinted a move to Stamford Bridge in the summer transfer window.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 were prepared to offer up to £32 million to secure the youngster’s signature, but they have been told they will have to up their offer if they want to sign Neymar.
According to the player’s agent, Neymar was as good a player as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lionel-Messi-c22296. He claimed the £32 million offer by the Blues would not suffice.
He told the London side they would have to increase their offer by at least £9 million, if they wished to have Neymar next season.
Neymar’s agent said while speaking to reporters:
“Last year http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Santos-c32532 received an offer of £32m from Chelsea and it was rejected. Now he would not leave for less than £41m.”
Neymar’s agent’s comments come across as highly overconfident, since the Brazilian youngster is in no way comparable to the Barcelona striker.
While Messi is considered to be the best striker in the world, Neymar does not even come close.
The Santos striker has made four appearances for the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brazil-c2858 senior squad and made his senior debut for Santos just three seasons ago.
He has attracted attention from Europe’s elite recently with his antics on the pitch, which are not necessarily his terrific form and the number of times he has found the back of the net.
Neymar was caught up in a fair share of controversies this year for both club and country, which proves he is almost as arrogant his agent.
The prospect of signing http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Neymar-c27639 may sign attractive, but Chelsea are better off without the young striker, who will take at least another five years to mature.
His recent success could be down to luck and a overly committed team. One must realize the player has not quite proven himself on the international stage, which means he could be a disappointment in Europe.
Chelsea would be better off signing other players, such as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kevin-De-Bruyne-c20717.
Lukaku (18), Falcao (25) and De Bruyne (19) are all better options for Chelsea to strengthen their squad in the summer transfer window.
They are as good if not better footballers than Neymar, and would actually benefit the Blues as they attempt to rebuild their existing squad.
So far Lukaku and De Bruyne have been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, with the deals expected to be finalized soon.
Falcao, on the other hand, looks to be heading to London rivals http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 or Tottenham Hotspur.
The Blues should realize they are buying players to compliment and support the existing ones, not replace them.
