The Blues manager was unwilling to talk on his future after Aston Villa recorded a 3-1 defeat at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea have now dropped down to fifth spot on the Premier League table and are in danger of losing out on a Champions League berth.
Goals from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Darren-Bent-c10358 doomed Chelsea after Didier Drogba's first half penalty had given a lead to the home side.
It was Chelsea's third home defeat of the season and manager Villas-Boas is now under increasing pressure. Earlier reports had suggested that the Portuguese's job is secure at the club even if the Blues fail to land the Premier League title; however, failing
to qualify for the Champions League would be a different proposition altogether.
When quizzed over his http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 security, Villas-Boas gave a technical answer, saying:
"You'll have to ask that question to the owner, but I have no other information on the contract.''
Speaking further, he added that minimum expectations from a club of Chelsea's calibre would be the first place come the end of the season.
The manager wasn't too concerned about this side having dropped to fifth place.
"Now we are fifth, below the top four. But we have to wait and see. It can change within 48 hours, though. That's a good thing. We have a chance to produce something.''
He said.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 showed defensive frailty time and time again in the match, as they have done so often this season, but Villas-Boas refused to blame it on his defenders, insisting that the team needs to regain the confidence instead.
He said in his post match press conference:
"If there is something to correct, we need to regain that confidence in the way we build up from the back. It's an easy thing to solve with players of this technical ability. I will keep away from defensive fragilities."
