Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas defends his team and claims against referee Chris Foy
Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas revealed he had no regrets over his comments about referee Chris Foy who was in charge of the Queens Park http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314 vs. Chelsea match. The Blues visit to Loftus Road ended in an unexpected and controversial way, with the visitors
being reduced to nine men and conceding a penalty, with the ultimate result being a 1-0 wins for the home side.
After the Portuguese manager criticised the head referee, the FA wrote to him asking for an explanation as to why he had done so. In addition to that, the Blues were charged with “failure to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion”
after footage showed some Chelsea players showing their displeasure over some of the controversial decisions during the match.
Chelsea have until tomorrow to respond to the accusation and letter, after which Villas-Boas could very well be found guilty of accusing the referee of being biased and card happy. While the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186 boss admitted he was not happy with Foy, he maintained
his earlier statements to be true, which were brought on after two of his players were sent off and seven others were booked.
Villas-Boas said while speaking to reporters:
“I would never question the referee's integrity. But the fact is that, at the moment, we are paying heavily in terms of major decisions.
Maybe this is what the FA (don't) want to hear from me - phrases like, 'The referee has influenced heavily three of our games'.”
According to Villas-Boas, he was certain the referee had adversely affected the result for his side with his antics. The Portuguese manager was also certain that the FA would not prefer to hear his complains, which he had gone on to make in previous fixtures
as well. Having observed the referee, Villas-Boas revealed Foy had acted different than he had in the past, which called for some sort of investigation.
He revealed:
“http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chris-c9006, for this particular game, was card happy and didn't show a pattern to what he's done in the past.
What happened in that game was surprising given what he'd done before.”
Already slapped with a £25,000 fine, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 could have to pay much more if they are found guilty on all the charges by the FA. Meanwhile, Villas-Boas remained supportive of his team, whom he did not think had acted aggressively during the match. The Portuguese
denied the Blues were undisciplined or aggressive in their clash against QPR.
Villas-Boas confirmed:
“It's not indiscipline, it's not aggressiveness. There might be tactical fouls, that you have to allow. You have to respect.
We didn't ever lose our discipline. We committed fouls because we were exposed, but that's not indiscipline.”
