Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas not afraid to lose http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 to Guus Hiddink
The new Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas insisted he had no problem with the fact that former Chelsea target Guus Hiddink was available for employment. It was because of his prior unavailability that the Blues chose to hire the 34-year-old Portuguese manager
in the first place.
However, Villas-Boas did not think his place at Stamford Bridge was under any risk by the fact that Hiddink had once again made himself available. The Dutchman has previously managed Chelsea before, delivering a very positive result in the three months or
so he was in charge of the London side.
Villas-Boas insisted:
“I have no problem with it.”
“This was a good period for the club. That doesn't mean he could always be as successful as that in a club of this dimension.”
While under the charge of Hiddink, who replaced sacked manager Luiz Felipe Scolari, Chelsea went on to win the FA Cup. That season the Blues were a shadow of their former selves, but Hiddink seemed to give them a new life because of which they claimed the
cup towards the end of the season.
While Villas-Boas piled praise of Hiddink, who has managed various national sides amongst club jobs, he did not feel he would be replaced anytime soon. The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186 boss was confident in stating that there was currently no vacancy at Chelsea.
He revealed:
“But Guus is one of the best managers in the world.
At the moment, there's not a vacancy. When there's a vacancy, I'm sure that he'll be one of the top candidates.”
However, Villas-Boas does not seem to be aware of the fact that Hiddink is a close friend of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 owner Roman Abramovich. It was only because of his friendship with the Russian billionaire that Hiddink decided to manage Chelsea as a caretaker coach while
still in charge of the Russian national team.
He was working as the manager for the Turkish national team when the Blues once again came calling and was unable to respond because of his contract. However, he could be given an advisory role, which Villas-Boas claimed to know nothing about.
Villas-Boas continued:
“It's not structurally even thought about within the club.”
