Chelsea boss Andres Villas Boas credits Sir Bobby Robson for his success

New Chelsea boss Andres Villas-Boas revealed that Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/William-c36847 Robson, commonly known as Bobby Robson, had helped him get to where he was today.
The 33-year-old Villas-Boas was recently appointed manager of the English Premier League giants Chelsea, after a highly successful season with FC Porto.
Villas-Boas led the Portuguese giants to four trophies last season, including the Primeira League and the UEFA Europa League.
His victory in the second tier European competition made him the youngest ever manager to lead his side to a Europa League win.
Apart from that Villas-Boas had an over-all impressive record with Porto, maintaining an unbeaten record in the Portuguese League.
He now arrives at Stamford Bridge, where he can expect a new challenge. The Portuguese manager admitted he owed much of his success to Bobby Robson.
Robson, who managed FC Porto in at one point in his career, met a young Villas-Boas and soon after appointed him the observation department of the club.
Villas-Boas soon gained his coaching license, while still working with Bobby Robson and went on to manage the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/British-Virgin-Islands-c2859 national team in 2000.
The Blues manager said he was aware of his managerial success and how Robson was to thank for it, Villas-Boas said in an interview:
“Bobby was a very important person in my career.
He was the person who advised me at a very young age to go on coaching courses and unlocked the doors of Porto for me to have access to his training sessions.
We had a very good relationship and he was someone I respected a lot and was respected in world football.”
Villas Boas revealed he felt Robson would be happy that he had taken charge of Chelsea, the former FC Porto boss continued:
“What he did he did not only with me and Jose but with all different kinds of people, promoting them and inspiring them to take their own role and their own way.
He is somebody who means a lot to the English game and I think he would be happy of course, to see me here at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 now.”
