http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 boss Carlo Ancelotti confirms squad fully fit for Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United
Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti revealed he had a fully fit squad ahead of the English Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur over the weekend. The Blues midfielders, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ramires-c30523, had previously not been fully fit but are now available
for selection for Saturday when the Spurs travel to Stamford Bridge, in a must-win clash for both sides.
The Italian manager revealed the two had not been able to train with the rest of the team during the beginning of the week but were now fit. Ancelotti claimed, “Now they are ready, they are fit.” Both have been crucial in the team’s revival in recent weeks
and their absence would have been a huge blow for Chelsea, with just four games remaining in the season.
The Blues are currently at second place on the Premier League table, six points behind league leaders Manchester United. With four games left, the London side have a slim chance of retaining the Premier League crown. However, that would require them to win
their remaining fixtures and hope the Red Devils slip up and lose two of their upcoming fixtures.
While Chelsea are focused on trying to retain the Premier League, having been eliminated from the cup competitions earlier in the season, Manchester United are in contention for the European Cup. Sir Alex Ferguson’s side registered a 2-0 win over German
outfit Schalke 04 in the first-leg of the semi-final and will be well rested ahead of their clash with the Blues next weekend.
The former AC Milan boss revealed he was happy for Manchester United having won the match against the Bundesliga giants and wished them the best of luck. Despite United having knocked his side out of the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League, Ancelotti
said he hoped they made it to the finals and revealed he preferred to face a strong Manchester United side.
Ancelotti said while speaking to reporters, “I was happy because I think the result was right. Manchester played a fantastic game. They deserved to win. I would like to play against the best team, Man United, and we are able to win and we deserve to win.
I hope that Manchester will reach the final and they will play against us with the best team.”
Chelsea host Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, April 30 and a victory over the Spurs will put pressure on Manchester United, who travel to the Emirates Stadium on Sunday. Even though Arsenal have not been in the best of forms, they are expected
to present the league leaders with a tough match. This weekend could very well decide who finishes in the top four and whether or not the Blues have a shot at retaining the Premier League crown.
