Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti denies Neymar chase as the Brazilians pile up at Stamford Bridge
Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti revealed he was pleased with Neymar’s recent claim that he wanted to play for the Blues. However, the Italian manager insisted that the 19-year-old striker was not currently on his target list.
That seems hard to believe, especially since Ancelotti was spotted in Brazil’s 2-0 win over Scotland in a friendly. In addition to an overall excellent performance, it was Neymar who scored both the goals to give his side the win.
When questioned about his presence at the match, Ancelotti claimed he was there to watch Chelsea midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brazil-c2858. He said, “It was a good performance, but the best player on the pitch was Ramires - 100%.”
Ancelotti signed Brazilian midfielder Ramires last season and the 24-year-old has proved to be a successful signing. The former Benfica player has made 27 appearances this season and has managed to find the back of the net twice.
In the January transfer window Ancelotti signed yet another Brazilian international, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Luiz-c10542. The 23-year-old defender was brought in from Benfica for a fee of £23 million and has proved to be worth every penny, recently being crowned the English Premier
League player of the month in March.
The Blues have previously been known to be interested in bringing in the Santos striker over to Stamford Bridge. Chelsea made a bid for Neymar which was rejected and it is understood that the Blues will have to pay as much as £35 million for the Brazil international.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786, he insisted he wanted to stay at develop further at Santos.
The Chelsea boss, who has previously managed AC Milan, has not helped matters with his recent statement. Ancelotti said while speaking to reporters, “He's very young, a fantastic talent. At this moment, we're not interested.”
Ancelotti’s attempt to keep the upper hand in this matter might backfire if Neymar chooses to go to another club instead of Chelsea. La Liga giants Barcelona are reportedly keeping a close watch on the Santos striker and could bid for him at the end of the
season, with the player also revealing his admiration for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38605.
Ancelotti did admit he was pleased with the news of Neymar’s interest, “It's good news because it's good for the club and the manager if players want to come here. It shows the rumours are true there's a good atmosphere here.”
Neymar signed a contract with Santos last summer which will keep him at the club until the end of the 2014 season. However, if Chelsea are willing to pay the demanded price, Neymar could very well be found in a Blue shirt next season.
