Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti has no regrets after disappointing season
The Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti revealed it was impossible to win every season, as the Blues finish second on the English Premier League table and failed to secure any silverware.
The Italian boss has faced harsh criticism for being unable to lead the London side to trophies in his second season at the club, after a highly successful first season.
Ancelotti won the domestic double of the English Premier League and the FA Cup with Chelsea in his first season with the Blues.
Unfortunately he has failed to recreate his success and the Blues now look to end the current season as their worst since Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich took over the club.
However, the former AC Milan manager revealed he had no regrets about the current season and insisted neither did the players.
Ancelotti said while speaking to reporters, “You know that it will be impossible to win every year because, if you win every year, other teams never win. I think we could do better this season but I think we don't have regrets about this season and the players
don't have to regret.”
In March Chelsea were 15 points behind league leaders Manchester United but managed to close the gap to just three points in less than two months.
In the third last fixture of the season, Chelsea faced Manchester United at Old Trafford, with a chance of going top of the table with a win.
Unfortunately, they ended up losing 2-1 but have still managed to secure second place on the table, a guaranteed spot in next seasons UEFA Champions League.
Ancelotti said he knew the reason why http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 had failed to perform this season, but said he would wait until the end of the season.
The Chelsea boss said he would reveal the reason why the Blues failed to perform at the end of the campaign, he added, “I know exactly what happened this year, here this season, exactly, 100 per cent. I will tell you after the end!”
His statement hints that he will most likely be sacked at the end of the season, which would obviously give him more freedom to talk about the London side.
Abramovich is reportedly on the lookout for a replacement for the Italian manager. The likes of Jose Mourinho, Guus Hiddink and Andre Villas Boas have been linked with taking over from Ancelotti at the end of this season.
