Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti revealed he had a surprise in store for English Premier League rivals Manchester United ahead of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final clash. The Italian boss was certain it could prove to be the difference between the two
sides and could very well help the Blues progress to the semi-finals of the European competition.
The Italian manager is aware he will need something special to overturn the 1-0 deficit as he prepares to take his side to Old Trafford. He is apparently preparing a surprise for Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson, something which will outsmart the
master tactician and guarantee the Blues a passage to the next stage of the Champions League.
After their disappointing loss at Stamford Bridge in the first leg of the Champions League, the Blues managed a 1-0 win over Wigan Athletic in the Premier League to guarantee their spot in the top four of the Premier League, which means they will qualify
for next season’s Champions League. However, Ancelotti is not determined to give up on this season’s European Cup easily.
Ancelotti, who is no amateur when it comes to mind games, claimed he had something special for the second leg. He said while speaking to reporters, “Now I have two days, so I am going home and I will watch the first game one, two or three times. I have to
prepare something we can do to create difficulties. I want to try to do something special for the next game.”
The former AC Milan coach was certain his side would have to improve their performance drastically if they wished to get a result at Old Trafford. He said, “To win there you have to do 100 per cent in everything. You have to use personality, courage and
you have to control the game. To do that, the players truly have to believe that we can win there.”
He admitted though, that the Red Devils have the advantage and are obvious favourites to make it through to the next round.
“Obviously, they have the advantage and will try to use counter-attack, to defend well. They are a fantastic defence doing a fantastic job. So it will not be easy to score but we have 90 minutes to try to do it,” added the Chelsea manager.
Ancelotti still has to decide who he wants to play in attack against Manchester United in mid-week. The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707 has proved to be useless since his arrival and it seems unlikely that he will find his debut goal against Manchester
United. The Italian manager could go along with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Didier-Drogba-c11044, who has the ability to score when most needed and could very well be the surprise Ancelotti was referring to.
