Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti hints at giving striker Fernando Torres a start over http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Didier-Drogba-c11044 against West Ham United
Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti revealed he could very well start with misfiring striker Fernando Torres instead of Didier Drogba in the weekend clash against London rivals West Ham United, at Stamford Bridge. The Italian is well aware that to start with the
former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 forward is a gamble, especially with just five must-win games remaining in the season.
If the Blues are to have a chance at retaining the Premier League crown, they have to win the remaining five fixtures. Not only that, Chelsea will be relying on Manchester United to slip up and lose at least two matches. While that seems like a long shot,
it is a possibility especially with the Red Devils preparing for the semi-final of the UEFA Champions League.
Ancelotti revealed he was considering giving the 27-year-old Spaniard a start in the clash against West Ham to freshen things up with the squad.
“Maybe I can use some rotation to maintain the players' freshness. It wouldn't be easy to leave Drogba out, but there's a chance we could leave him out on Saturday,” he said.
However, the Italian admitted it could be a gamble since Torres had not been in the best goal scoring form recently. Ancelotti continued, “We started with Torres against (Manchester) City. We won the game when Didier came on. It might be a good solution
to give him the last 30 minutes of the game because he's fresh and fit.”
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707 arrived at Stamford Bridge in the January transfer window this year for a record breaking fee of £50 million. In addition to being the most expensive signing, the Spaniard has also been the most disappointing transfer, having failed to score
even a single goal for the Blues. Ancelotti has maintained faith in the striker though and is confident he will regain his form.
The former AC Milan manager did admit that the only way to get Torres scoring again was to help the striker find his first goal. He revealed he was hoping for his teammates to help him with his goal drought, “To score one goal, for him, could be the best
medicine. If the players, the team-mates, help him, I'm happy.”
While he has not been too impressive in terms of scoring goals, Torres has been putting in decent performances. Ancelotti said he felt the player had a future at the London club, “Everyone has to know that Fernando is the present and the future of this club.
We cannot judge now the moment. He will play a lot of games for Chelsea.”

While the rotation policy is excellent to create competition among players, it would not necessarily be the best so close to the end of the
season. The Italian would be better off starting with Didier Drogba, who has proved himself time and time again for the Blues.
