Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti is hoping that Manchester United drop points in their next Premier League game against Arsenal.
The manager claimed that a win against Tottenham next week would put pressure on the Red Devils and that could turn out as an advantage for the Blues.
Chelsea are six points behind Manchester United in the Premier League with 67 points. The Blues will face city rivals Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge on Saturday and a win would take them to only three points from the leaders, who play Arsenal at the
Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
Ancelotti revealed that his side must win against fellow Londoners Tottenham Hotspur in order to keep up with the Manchester giants for the Premier League title race. The Italian added that the title could well be decided in two weeks time as both Chelsea
and Manchester United have very important games coming up.
The manager also stressed on the importance of goals and admitted that the title race could go down to the wire and goal difference could play a very important part in the end.
“If we can beat Tottenham, we can put more pressure on Manchester United in the game against Arsenal. We have two important games. The title will be decided in 14 days. It could happen, so it was important for us to score three goals. We didn’t deserve to
score three goals today, but it was good,” the tactician was quoted as saying.
The former AC Milan manager admitted that his side will have to win all the remaining four games if they have any chance of winning the Premier League. He said that it will be a difficult task as Chelsea have to play Tottenham and Manchester United but remained
optimistic.
“It will be difficult to win all four, we have to play very tough games. We know that if we don’t win one game, we can lose our ambition and so there is pressure,” the manager concluded.
Chelsea have four games remaining in the season with two home games against Tottenham and Newcastle United and two away games against Everton and leaders Manchester United.
