Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti revealed he was considering giving misfiring striker Fernando Torres a start against Birmingham City in the mid-week English Premier League fixture. West Brom, with 33-year-old Didier Drogba starting and opening the scoring for Chelsea, further denting Torres' reputation at the club.

The 27-year-old Spaniard failed to end his goal drought and it
was Drogba who scored the Blues' only goal when he was brought on for Torres as a substitute.
Torres has failed to find the back of the net since his £50 million move to Stamford Bridge in the January transfer window. The Italian manager has maintained his confidence in the striker though, claiming he needs time and confidence to find his goal-scoring

Ancelotti said he did not necessarily want Torres to score as long as he was giving it his best. He said while speaking to reporters, “Everyone is hoping that Torres will score a goal and we will give him chances to do that, but it doesn’t mean he has to
score. For me the most important thing is he has to play well for the team, he has to move, and if possible he has to score.”

Brom. He was confident the 32-year-old striker had returned to his top form and would help keep the Blues in the top three of the Premier League.
Kalou was full of praise for fellow countryman Drogba, “When he plays like that the whole team feels secure. He always gives his best for the team and he has the personality to bring everyone together. He is back to his top level. It’s the Didier we all
want to see. I need to ask Didier how he can keep putting in those performances.”
