Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti says tie against Manchester United will be crucial
Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti has said that his team’s Premier League fixture against Manchester United on Tuesday night would be key in their bid to qualify for the UEFA Champions League in the 2011-12 season.
The former AC Milan manager said, “We are excited to play this game. We arrive at it at a good moment. We have confidence to do our best and win it. It won't be easy. United have been the best team in the Premier League. For us, it's important to win, not
just for the result but to improve our confidence after the victory at Copenhagen, where we played very well.”
Carlo Ancelotti refused to agree with the comments which his captain http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/John-Terry-c18895 made about Manchester United recently. Terry claimed that Chelsea could still take advantage of Manchester United’s poor away form and wins in both fixtures against United would
put them back into the title race.
But the Chelsea manager said, “United can decide their own destiny.  Our aim is different at this moment. Our aim is still to compete with them. We are not mathematically out so we have to keep believing. But we need also to be honest, it would be difficult
for us to close the gap. We want to arrive in the top four - this is our aim.”
The Barclays Premier League champions are currently placed fifth in the standings and are 15 points behind league leaders Manchester United.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786’s match against Manchester United has been tipped as the title decider in the recent seasons. But this time, a win for Chelsea at Stamford Bridge could only dent Manchester United’s hopes of winning the record 19th title.
Chelsea are virtually out of the Barclays Premier League title race, however, the Blues are now aiming for a top four finish. They are only two points behind the fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur with one game in hand.
A win for Chelsea would take them a point above Tottenham Hotspur and put them in the race for a place in the Champions League. On the other hand, Manchester United would only be one point ahead of second-placed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 if they fail to get all three points
at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea ended their three-match winless streak with a recent 2-0 victory over Danish Champions FC Copenhagen in the Champions League.
