Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti to decide on strikers Fernando Torres and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Didier-Drogba-c11044 ahead of Tottenham Hotspur clash
With http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707 scoring his first goal for Chelsea against West Ham United over the weekend, the Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti has been presented with a tough decision as the season draws to a close. The former AC Milan boss will have to decide who he
will start with upfront; Didier Drogba or Torres.
There are just four games remaining in the Premier League and the Italian manager will have to choose who will start or he could once again try and play both the strikers together. That has not worked too well in the past but Ancelotti revealed he was willing
to give it another shot.
Fernando Torres arrived at Stamford Bridge in the January transfer window from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809, for a record breaking fee of £50 million. After a 732-minute wait, the 27-year-old finally found the back of the net for the Blues against the Hammers and will be expecting
more starts after his first goal.
Drogba on the other-hand, has been at Chelsea for seven years now, he is arguably their most successful striker in recent times. The Ivory Coast international has played a crucial role in the revival of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 to make them title contenders once again.
Ancelotti was confident the two strikers could play together after their recent performances. He said while speaking to reporters, “Considering the performance of Didier and considering Fernando scored, we have to try and put them both together. We have
one week to train to try.”
With a week remaining before Chelsea host Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge, Ancelotti was confident they had plenty of time to train. The Chelsea boss revealed he would experiment playing them together and depending on the outcome, make his decision
accordingly.
The Italian manager insisted the two did not have a problem playing together, “They don't have a problem to play together. Didier is now moving very well, not just in the box but also outside the box to help his team-mates. For this reason I think they can
play together.”
Their improvement in recent weeks has convinced Ancelotti that the two strikers are capable of playing together. However, the Italian revealed he would wait after watching them in training to decide who he would be playing against the London rivals on Saturday.

Despite Torres ending his goal drought, Ancelotti revealed there was no guarantee the Spaniard would start against the Spurs.
“I don't want to guarantee this (that Torres will start) but I want to try. We have one week training and then I will decide if they can play together,” he added.
After playing Tottenham this weekend, Chelsea will travel to Old Trafford to take on league leaders Manchester United. The upcoming two fixtures will be crucial in determining whether the Blues stand a chance of retaining the English Premier League crown
or not.
