Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti urges his team to focus on their own performance: EPL news
Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti has urged his side to focus only on their own matches and not to worry too much about what is going on elsewhere in the Barclays Premier League. His comments come just before a weekend in which the Blues take on Tottenham
Hotspur, and Manchester United go up against Arsenal.
Ancelotti believes that Chelsea still have a chance of overtaking League leaders Manchester United and retaining their Premier League crown; however, he knows that his side will be hard-pressed to achieve that target. The Red Devils have a commanding six-point
lead at the summit of the standings, and with just four games of the season remaining, things are looking bleak for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786.
If the Blues are to retain the title, they will need to win all their remaining matches, and also hope that United slip up along the way. Manchester United will face Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, 1st May. If the Gunners manage to win that encounter,
it would give Chelsea a great opportunity to overtake United. However, manger Carlo Ancelotti has warned his side against dwelling too much on the matter.
The Italian urged his players to concentrate on Saturday’s London derby against Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge. He said, “I'm sure that Arsenal will do their job, we have to do our job. Our job is to win against Tottenham. It will not be easy because
Tottenham is a very good team, very strong, but I think that we want to keep open the Premier League until the last minute, so we have a possibility to do this.”
He added, "Obviously we have to beat Man United, we have to beat Tottenham, but our aim is this. Maybe Man United can win the title but we have to fight until the last minute of this Premier League.”
Chelsea have yet to face United at Old Trafford in the League this season, and if things go their way this weekend, that match in May might just be the title decider.
The Blues are currently in second place in the League standings with 67 points.
