Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti wishes to remain at Stamford Bridge
Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti revealed he wished to remain at the London club, after speculation that he was going to be leaving Stamford Bridge in the summer.
The Italian manager’s post has been under speculation after Chelsea look to finish trophy less this season.
The Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is understood to be on the look-out for a replacement for the former AC Milan boss.
Former Chelsea manager’s Jose Mourinho and Guus Hiddink have been linked with a return, while the Russian billionaire is also said to have his eyes on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186 boss Andre Villas Boas.
There have been plenty of rumors of who will take over once Ancelotti is sacked at the end of the season, but the manager has revealed he wishes to stay.
Ancelotti is contracted to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 for another season and said he wished to stay in charge of the Blues for the remainder of his contract.
Ancelotti said while speaking to reporters, “My desire is to stay here. But, if it's not possible, I have to find another thing. I don't need to have a rest. I want to train next season.”
While this season has been highly disappointing, the worst since Abramovich took charge of the club in 2003, Ancelotti deserves another chance.
He put his name down in the Chelsea books as being the manager who led the Blues to their first ever domestic double of the English Premier League and the FA Cup last season.
His success in his first season, which saw the London side set many records on their way to claim the double, has made him extremely popular with the Blues supporters.
The Italian manager said, “I love the atmosphere here. I think everyone respects your job. There is no violence, the stadiums are full. That's the reason I want to stay here.”
While Ancelotti has made his desire to remain at Chelsea perfectly clear, he is aware the decision ultimately lies with the owner.
However, he acknowledged there was a chance that he could be leaving the London club at the end of the campaign, depending on Abramovich’s decision.
He has been linked with the a move to the Serie A, ever since the sacking of AS http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 boss Claudio Ranieri, there is a probability Ancelotti could take up the manager’s job there.
Ancelotti hinted there was a possibility of taking up a job in Italy, he continued, “If it's not possible, I'm Italian. If there are some opportunities in Italy, I will take them.”
