http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 defender David Luiz, who is currently out injured, has revealed he is confident of being fit for the UEFA Champions League final against Bayern Munich on 19th May.
The Blues will have trouble in defence when they face Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League final since captain John Terry and Branislav Ivanovic are both suspended. That leaves http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gary-Cahill-c14439 to fill in the spaces in central defence.
While Luiz and Cahill are expected to play in the Champions League final, they are currently sidelined with hamstring injuries. The caretaker manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-c31294 Di Matteo revealed he was hoping both the young defenders would be fit for the final since they
were expected to return to full training this week.
Luiz, who was taken off during the FA Cup semi-final win against London rivals Tottenham Hotspur, revealed he was training hard to make it for the big match on the 19th. The Brazilian admitted it was his dream to play in the Champions League final,
as was every player’s.
Luiz said in an interview:
“Every day, I have had treatment and am going through hard training so that, in Munich, I can play. I am doing everything I can for this game. It is a dream (to play).
Not just my dream of course, but for all players in the world. They all dream to play in the Champions League final. I think my fitness will be good and I will be fit for Munich.”
Chelsea and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385 clash on Sunday for them to gain some match fitness before the Champions
League final.
Luiz admitted the Blues had a difficult game coming up against Bayern Munich since they would be without four key players. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Raul-Meireles-c30678 are all suspended from the final and the London side will have to do without
them.
He revealed:
“We have four great players out. This is difficult without JT, Ivanovic, Ramires and Meireles, but we have other players who can do excellent jobs in this Champions League.”
