Chelsea defender David Luiz says his best form is yet to come
Chelsea defender David Luiz has claimed that his phenomenal start for the Blues is just a taste of what’s to come from him.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707 at Stamford Bridge, Luiz is turning out to be
a much better acquisition than his Spanish team-mate.
Torres has failed to score for the Blues since his arrival more than two months ago. However, David Luiz has been having no such problems. Though the Brazilian primarily plays in a defensive role, he has proved that he is more than capable of scoring should
a chance present itself.
Luiz has already struck twice for the Blues, putting Torres’ 50 million pound price tag to shame. His latest goal came in his side's crucial Premier League encounter against Manchester City, which Chelsea won 2-0. Luiz has been garnering praise from all
quarters for his fantastic performances for the Blues, but the Brazilian has claimed that his best is yet to come.
Speaking on his electric start for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786, Luiz said, "I am happy with the way that things are going well right now. I hope that this will continue, and I won’t let this recent success get to my head. I will continue working hard on a day-to-day basis,
so that hopefully this success will continue in the future.”
The former Benfica man remains optimistic about his side’s chances of defending their Barclays Premier League crown, despite the fact that Chelsea are nine points adrift of leaders Manchester United. Luiz is aware that there is still a long way to go before
the end of the season, and he is confident that the Red Devils will slip up and give Chelsea a chance to catch up.
The Brazilian said, “There are still many games left to dispute, and it’s a very competitive league, where the bottom teams can beat the top teams. That is what gives the league its magic, and so the title race is still very much open and we will fight for
the title.”
Chelsea are currently in third place in the Premier League standings with 54 points.
