Jose Bosingwa, the 29-year-old http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Portugal-c2984 international, revealed the Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas was under no particular pressure after a string of poor results. He insisted the manager retained the support of the dressing room which was why he was
unlikely to make an early exit from Stamford Bridge.
The 34-year-old Portuguese manager has been linked with an early exit after poor performances which have seen the Blues lose in the English Premier League and the UEFA Champions League. While the manager and the squad remain adamant that he is there to stay,
the decision ultimately remains with owner Roman Abramovich.
Bosingwa said in an interview:
“Everyone was down after the defeat in Leverkusen, because no-one expected it and we need to change the direction of our season.”
Bosingwa and the rest of the squad, refused to blame Villas-Boas for the defeat to Bayer Leverkusen. Instead, they believed the players were to be held responsible, since it was them who had been making the same mistakes over and over again which had been
costing them precious points.
He revealed:
“The dressing room has been affected by the defeats and now we have to re-launch our season.”
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186 defender was confident the players were supportive of Villas-Boas and did not doubt his managerial abilities. However, he felt the team, overall, could improve and stop conceding soft goals and losing the matches they could do with winning
and dropping unnecessary points as they done in the past.
Bosingwa continued:
“Andre Villas-Boas is a big coach. Nobody doubts him [or] that he can do the right http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 for Chelsea.
But we are conceding late goals, dropping points, and it's impossible to fight for big titles if we keep doing that.”
The Blues seemed to have returned to winning ways with a win over Wolverhampton Wanderers in the English Premier League. However, it remains to be seen if they can retain their winning form when they take on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 in the Carling Cup before hosting Newcastle
United in the Premier League and facing http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863 in a must win fixture in the UEFA Champions League.
