Chelsea defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Mancienne-c25332 on loan to Wolverhampton Wanderers unsure about future
Former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314 and Wolverhampton Wanderers since then.
After two seasons with QPR, Mancienne joined Wolves in the 2008-2009 season, their first since being promoted from the Championship and helped them avoid relegation.
Even though he was originally a centre back, he was given more freedom under http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wolves-c40952 boss Mick McCarthy and was often deployed as a defensive midfielder.
He has done well in both roles, proving he has the potential to grow and develop as a player. The Englishman is currently in his third season with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Even though his original loan spell with Wolves was supposed to end during January of this year, the Blues did not recall the player and he has had to stay at the Molineux for the remainder of the current season.
His spirited performances for the Wolves have made him a favorite with the fans and despite being sidelined for over three months with a tendon injury; Mancienne has maintained his place in the first squad.
When asked about his future, the 23-year-old Blues defender revealed he was not certain where he would end up next season.
Mancienne said while speaking to reporters, “I've got to go back to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786. But beyond that, I can't say what's going to happen because I don't know myself.”
His three season loan spell will come to an end during the summer and he will once again return to Stamford Bridge, but there is no guarantee he will get to stay.
Mancienne has more than proved his worth to the club, but with Chelsea having bough http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Luiz-c10542 in the January transfer window for £23 million, there looks to be no room for him in the squad.
Unless of course the predicted exodus takes place and most of the ageing players leave the London club, which would make room for Mancienne and many others.
The other notable Chelsea players current on loan are strikers http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-Sturridge-c10076 and Gael Kakuta, on loan to Bolton Wanderers and Fulham respectively.
They have all been doing really well but it is not certain if they will return to the Bridge at the end of the season. Mancienne revealed he was having an amazing time at the Molineux, having played first team football alongside experienced players.
He said, “It feels good to be back involved. I'm really enjoying it again because I'm playing in the position I came here for. Playing alongside Jody [Craddock] is a massive help as well. He's a big character and he's a great defender.”
