Chelsea deny Ashley Cole row with Manchester City players after 2-1 win
Chelsea have denied reports that defender Ashley Cole taunted Manchester City players after the 2-1 win over the Citizens in the English Premier League at the Bridge.
According to sources, Cole reportedly taunted some of the Manchester City players after his side secured a win over Roberto Mancini’s side. Not only did the Blues secure all three points they also successfully ended Manchester City’s unbeaten run in the
Premier League.
The Blues released an official statement denying the reports, claiming they were a work of fiction and that no such incident had taken place. “Contrary to reports, Ashley Cole did not say anything to the opposition in the tunnel after Monday's game.”
In fact, the statement continued to further point out that Cole was friends with most of the players at Manchester City and knew them personally. It would seem unnecessary and foolish for him to incite a confrontation with them, especially since he was on
the winning team.
It continued:
“Ashley has huge respect for the players and staff at Manchester City, many of whom he knows personally and calls friends.”
Manchester City manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-c31294 Mancini suggested otherwise. While he did not use any names, the manager claimed that there had been a heated exchange between players in the tunnel after the match but claimed not to know who was involved.
