Swansea City midfielder, Leon Britton, has revealed that his side’s 1-1 draw against Chelsea over the weekend has served to lift the morale of the entire unit.
The South http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wales-c3041 outfit overcame a one-goal deficit, as newcomer Pablo Hernandez slotted home a late goal to help the Swans secure a well deserved point out of the fixture.
The draw came a couple of days after their historic 3-1 win over http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 at Anfield in the fourth round of the Capital One Cup.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-c25261 Laudrup’s troops were also impressive in their previous league match against Manchester City. Even though they ended up on the wrong side of a 1-0 result, that did not happen before them giving the current title holders a tough run for the money.
Swansea have had a topsy-turvy first few months this campaign. After getting off to a phenomenal start, the Welsh club suffered three back to back defeats in between, before rallying to stop the rut.
They currently occupy the eleventh place on the table.
Nonetheless, Britton feels that his side have fared well so far under the management of Laudrup.
The English International was of the opinion that the Dane’s ideas had finally started to seep into their games and was confident of replicating their last season’s achievements all over again.
“This is definitely a Laudrup team and you can say he has had four or five months working on the training ground to get us where we want to be,” he told the reporters.
“We got fantastic results at the start of the season…but we’re still new to this league and there’s going to be time when you get a run of three or four games where you don’t pick up any wins.”
“We’ve shown that against three top-quality teams that we can perform. This will give us confidence going into the next few games.”
At the moment, the Swans are 7 points clear of the drop zone. They will next square-off against bottom-ranked Southampton at the Saint Mary’s Stadium on Saturday, in a match which Laudrup has already labelled as more important than their game against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786.
