Thibaut Courtois, the 19-year-old Genk goal keeper, revealed English Premier League giants Chelsea had approached him over a move to Stamford Bridge in the summer transfer window.
However, the Belgian keeper said he wanted to remain with Genk for at least two more years before moving to a top European side.
The youngster has been in terrific form for the Belgian outfit, which has caught the attention of the London side.
Even though Chelsea’s first choice keeper Petr Cech is in terrific form and has the rest of his career ahead of him, the Blues do not have a suitable replacement for the 29-year-old.

Courtois has emerged as the favourite to be brought to Stamford Bridge, the player himself revealed Chelsea had shown interest in securing his signature.
The player revealed he was extremely flattered by Chelsea’s interest in him, he said while speaking to reporters:
“It's wonderful that they [Chelsea] have such confidence in me and see me as the successor of Petr Cech.

This will not happen in a year or two, but three, four or five years. I might as well develop myself quietly.”
However, he revealed he was determined to remain with his current side for at least a year or two, where he would be guaranteed regular football.
Courtois insisted he would be at Genk next season, no matter how attractive an offer the Blues made, he continued:
“No matter what happens, I'll play again next season in the Genk jersey.
Maybe I'll stay two years; it will depend on how I develop here. Then we'll see if I will be lent to an English team.”
