Chelsea target another Benfica defender
English Premier League defending champions Chelsea are reportedly eyeing another Benfica defender after signing Benfica defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Luiz-c10542 in the January transfer window. The Blues are determined to bring in Fabio Coentrao, the 23-year-old Portuguese left-back
during the summer transfer window to partner him with Luiz.
Luiz was a last minute signing and cost Chelsea £23 million, much less than the £50 million the Blues paid for striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 forward, having already scored
two goals for his new side.
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is said to be highly impressed with Luiz and has asked for another Benfica defender to be brought in during the summer transfer window. The Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti has his sights set on the highly talented Coentrao.
The London side are reportedly willing to pay £23 million, the same amount they got Luiz for but it seems Benfica are expecting slightly more for the Portuguese. Benfica president Luis Filipe Vieira wants an estimated £26 million for the star defender and
will not let him go for less.
Coentrao is a highly versatile player and is able to play as a left winger along with being an excellent left back. He is known for his energetic runs down the left flank and accurate crosses. He is contracted to Benfica until the end of the 2016 season
but has mostly been out on loan since 2008.
Diomansy Kamara joins Leicester on loan
Diomansy Kamara, the 30-year-old Fulham striker, has joined Leicester City on a loan move for the rest of the season. He will be joining the Championship side after the international break and will hope to help the side with their campaign.
Kamara has had a fairly decent season so far, scoring two goals in ten appearances for Fulham this season but has decided to join Leicester to help them. Sven Goran Eriksson’s side is currently at seventh place with only eight games remaining and they are
determined to make something of their season.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Senegal-c3001 international revealed he had received a call from the Leicester manager after which he decided to make the move. Kamara said while speaking to reporters, “I'm so happy to be here. It is a massive club with a good manager. When he called me I
was so pleased.”
Kamara was confident he could make a difference for Leicester and revealed he was also pleased at the opportunity of once again playing alongside Ayegbeni Yakubu. He continued, “I think I can do something for this club. I have to play good football and score
goals now that I am here.”
The former England coach revealed, “Diomansy is a quality striker and will be a great addition to our team. He brings with him pace, good technical ability and Premier League quality. I am sure he will settle in well and be an exciting player for the club.”
