Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech has claimed that Arsenal are out of the title race after their 3-3 draw against Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane on Wednesday night. Cech believes that the Gunners have thrown away one too many chances of closing the gap
on Barclays Premier League leaders Manchester United.
Despite enduring one of their worst season’s in recent memory, Chelsea are still in with a shout of retaining their Premier League crown. The Blues are six points adrift of Manchester United, with five games of the season left to play. Third placed Arsenal
are also six points off the pace, but Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech believes that their title challenge is all but over.
The Gunners could have been sitting at the summit of the Premier League table if they had been able to handle the pressure of the run-in, but as they often do, Arsenal once again stumbled at the finish line. Wenger’s men have dropped four precious points
in their last two games.
They drew their home game against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 1-1 after conceding a late penalty, before throwing away a two-goal lead against Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane to succumb to a 3-3 draw.
Arsenal have proved once again that they are unable to cope with pressure, something that has allowed Chelsea to take their place as Manchester United’s main rivals in the title race.
Speaking about the matter, Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech said, “Arsenal had a big game against Tottenham. They were 3-1 up and threw it away. Now they are third for the first time in a long time so let's see how they cope with this new situation. They had
plenty of chances this season to close the gap and haven't taken them yet."
He added, “We've been saying for a long time we want to keep winning and maintain the pressure on everybody. Arsenal have difficult games and United have to play us and Arsenal so there could possibly be six points [dropped by them].”
Cech knows that the title is still Manchester United’s to lose. However, he believes that United’s congested fixture list will give the Blues an advantage.
Chelsea are currently second in the League standings with 64 points.
