Chelsea stopper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Petr-Cech-c29837 has denied reports that the players openly criticised the manager Andre Villas-Boas in front of owner Roman Abramovich earlier on in the season.
After a run of poor results, there were reports that the Russian billionaire visited the training ground where he had a confrontation with the manager. It was claimed that certain players had spoken out against the Portuguese manager and were currently not
on the best of terms with him.
Despite Chelsea having secured their first win after five fixtures in all competitions, the reports have continued. It is claimed that the senior players at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 are in disagreement with Villas-Boas over various issues and as a result the manager has
been linked with an early Stamford Bridge exit.
Cech denied the reports, claiming the media had twisted the details of the meeting between the squad and the owner. Cech said in an interview:
“Everyone has been talking about a meeting between the team and Abramovich.
The truth is elsewhere and the picture of that meeting was distorted.”
While they managed a 3-0 win over Bolton Wanderers in the English Premier League, they still remain fifth on the English Premier League table. They are seven points behind third place Tottenham Hotspur and are currently tied on points with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Czech-Republic-c2882 international admitted the club was under a lot of pressure, from the media and the fans to deliver better results. He revealed:
“The club is under constant pressure media. That's the problem.
There is a lot of speculation and nonsense, but we have to live with it.”
Despite their recent poor form and the continued speculation, Cech was not worried about the Blues finishing in the top three at the end of the season. Cech continued:
“The mood always derives from results so the mood is better.
Tottenham lost at the weekend. We can to get closer and play for third place. We still have a chance to finish third but our aim is to finish fourth as the worst case scenario. That's clear.
I still believe things will turn for the better and our season will be successful.”
