Chelsea shotstopper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ramires-c30523 in the dying stages of the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final tie against Manchester United.
Cech said, “I think everybody saw what happened, you can see clearly on the TV. But the most important person did not see it.”
Chelsea suffered their first-ever defeat at Stamford Bridge against Manchester United since 2002 after Wayne Rooney’s first half strike proved to be the only goal of the night.
Carlo Ancelotti’s men started the match positively and dominated the game by enjoying most of the time on the ball. Despite having more shots on target than Manchester United, Chelsea failed to find a breakthrough at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues were clearly lacking in the final third, as the poor form of their strikers continued. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Didier-Drogba-c11044, who recently scored against Stoke City, failed to continue his goalscoring form against the Red Devils and looked completely out of depth against

Moreover, Chelsea’s most expensive signing Fernando Torres’ barren run in front of the goal also continued, as he once again failed to find the net. However, his one effort which was destined for goal was exceptionally stopped by Edwin van der Sar.
Nonetheless, Chelsea played an exceptional game against United and were unlucky to be on the losing side. Petr Cech is confident that his side will be able to overturn the 1-0 deficit in the return leg.
He said, “We lost the game and we have left ourselves a mountain to climb but we have to do it. I think we created chances and that was the key. They had their first chance and scored and we had some but we didn't score, and that's the difference.”
Moreover, Chelsea were also the last team that defeated Manchester United at Old Trafford in the 2009-10 season. Since then, Sir Alex Ferguson’s men are unbeaten at home in all competitions and have only drawn once.
Despite the fact that Manchester United have never lost a Champions League tie after winning the first leg, Petr Cech feels that his team has what it takes to triumph at Old Trafford.
The return leg of the quarter-final will be played on Tuesday, 12 April, 2011.
