Chelsea hire ECN Management to promote the likes of Fernando Torres in China and other countries
English Premier League giants, Chelsea have hired an agency which will promote their players in China and other countries. The Blues confirmed they had plans to market their super stars such as the recent arrival, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707.
The London club have hired ECN Management, which is based mostly in China and will try and find ways to market the 18 players whose image rights are owned by the club. The most notable player among them is Torres.
The club confirmed in an official statement, “ECN Management will be looking to help partner them with local brands, as part of their own ambassadorial programmes.” Ron Gourlay, the Chelsea chief executive added, “We hope to work closely to build on our
players' image and reputation in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/China-c8926.”
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has invested an estimated £700 million since he took over the London club in 2003. While his generous contributions have undoubtedly helped the club develop into one of Europe’s top sides, the Russian billionaire wants to expand
further.
Not only that, but in accordance to the UEFA financial fair play regulations, according to which clubs cannot spend more than their income, the Blues will have to either cut down on their spending or start making more money.
That is where the ECN Management comes in, they will ensure Chelsea players are promoted in countries where they are not that well known. More branding opportunities for players means more revenue for the club, which is what the management at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 is
aiming for.
The ECN Management Director Frederick Blackford said, “Football in emerging markets, particularly in China is the most exciting growth business in sports. Chelsea players are some of the most prominent ambassadors of the world game.”
The current Chelsea squad has players from 11 different countries, with 16 of them representing their respective country at national level. The defending Champions are looking to expand, like Manchester United who are likely to reach the £100 million mark
for commercial revenue this season.
