Chelsea's manager, Carlo Ancelotti is looking to bring in Wolfsburg defender Simon Kjaer, to try to solve the team’s defensive problems as early as January.
Chelsea have managed to fall short on centre backs, for a majority of the season so far, with the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/John-Terry-c18895 and Alex picking up injuries mid way through the season. However, it seems like Carlo Ancelotti, who had previously
killed off all his hopes to land Kjaer is looking to reignite that interest in the player, as he feels he needs to find a solution for the constantly injured Chelsea back line as soon as he possibly can.
The lack of steel at the back for the team has caused them to go on a six-match victory less run, which has managed to dampen the teams title hopes significantly. However, Ancelotti has gone ahead and stated that all hope is not
lost, as the manager is willing to spend as much as seven million pounds on the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Denmark-c2884 international.
However, the only stone standing in Chelsea's way at the moment, is the fact that Wolfsburg happened to sign Kjaer, just over six months ago from Palermo. The defender has not managed to fit into the team as well as he was expected
to, but the German outfit are still reported to be more than just reluctant on letting the player go already.
Chelsea are well aware of this fact, but they also know that the team's back line is wearing thinner by the minute and if no reinforcements are brought in, then they could be caught in a rather tough predicament. Ancelotti will
be looking to try to get Wolfsburg to part with their twenty-one-year old defender in hopes that the right amount of cash would help swing the deal in Chelsea's favour.
If Chelsea do manage to land the player, then it is also safe to say that they would have potentially found a long-term replacement for their http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Captain-c8314 John Terry, who has only a couple of seasons left in him at the most.
On the other hand, a new lively and fresh defender could also prove to be just what the team needs in order to get out of their current slump and pick up form once again.
