Chelsea, who have for the last couple of years been the force to be reckoned with, have lately managed to fall from grace. The team has managed to go on an astonishing five games without picking up a win and according to most experts the fault lies in the
team's ageing players. One of the areas that has managed to suffer the most because of the lack of a good youth system at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/John-Terry-c18895 their captain and Alex;
who is scheduled to be out of action till the end of January.
As a result, Carlo Ancelotti, the Chelsea manager, has been reported to be looking around for a player who can come in and help the team at the back, while at the same time ensure a future at the club on the long run. After countless hours searching for
just the right player, the manager has settled for Bolton's centre back Gary Cahill, to be the man who can help revive the sleeping giants.
Ancelotti is reported to have said: “By January 31, if we are sure that Alex will have resolved his problem, we won’t need another defender. We have to wait and see his condition.
“But we can think about things, a new defender, towards the end of January. That would be the only position.’
“And obviously, if you take an English player, you don’t have a problem to adapt to things here.”
At the current moment in time, the only quality centre back in the Premier Leauge, who happens to be English is Cahill. The defender has been in top form with Bolton and has in the past been linked with moves to numerous teams. However with no one in the
past looking to meet the team's demands for the player, it seems like Chelsea might just manage to beat the competition, if they can fork out as much as fifteen million pounds for the player at the turn of the year.
