Chelsea looking to make audacious bid for Carlos Tevez
Chelsea have been reported to be in the works, to possibly be contemplating a move for Manchester City’s striker Carlos Tevez. Carlo Ancelotti, the Chelsea manager, has been on the lookout for a player who can come in the side
and help Didier Drogba out up front. It seems like with Tevez wanting to move out of City, the task of looking for a potential player to come in to do just that has been made a whole lot easier for the manager.
Tevez recently went to the media and stated that he had, had it with his career at City. In fact, the player even went ahead and handed in an official transfer request, which City turned down. Nonetheless, the player went on to
give the team an ultimatum that stated if he was not sold, he would quit football altogether.
On the other hand, Chelsea’s two main attacking threats, Nicolas Anelka and Drogba are currently reaching their mid thirties and are bound to call it quits on their career sooner or later. The team currently does not have any real
replacements for the players in sight, as the younger strikers at the team are still quite immature in front of goal and need a lot more time to reach their true potential. This is one of the main reasons that Ancelotti has been looking to land a striker,
who has the quality of playing for Chelsea and can offer a long-term future to the team.
With Tevez already having played for Manchester United and having been City’s stand out player ever since he joined the club, it is safe to say that he has all the quality in the world to play at Chelsea and fit right in. The other
bonus is that Tevez is currently in his mid twenties and can offer the team around eight more seasons at least.
With Tevez already having done the hard work, pushing through for a transfer it seems like all Chelsea really have to do now is make the offer for the player. According to experts the player would cost Chelsea around thirty million
pounds if they are to go through with the deal. It is now a wait until January to see if Ancelotti decides to make the kill and go in for the want-away City player.
