Chelsea looking to sign Gary Cahill from Bolton
Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas has admitted to his interest in Gary Cahill and the manager is now rumoured to be looking to make a move for the defender in the January transfer window.
Andre Villas-Boas and Chelsea have been on the lookout for a centre back in recent weeks and it seems like their search has now ended with them targeting Bolton Wanderers defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gary-Cahill-c14439.
The Blues are looking to offload http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/John-Terry-c18895 proving to be a nuisance at the back in recent weeks, it seems like the team is looking to finally mix things up.
Cahill is set to run out of a contract in the near future and Chelsea are looking to seize this opportunity to seize the players signature.
Villas-Boas, when talking about the defender is quoted to have said: "We will be in the market for a central defender, it's pretty obvious. I spoke about Cahill in the pre-match press conference. We think he's extremely interesting
but I cannot speak a lot about one player that doesn't belong to me.”
However, the manager went on to respect Owen Coyle and stated that he wouldn’t talk about his plans too elaborately, since it would be unfair to Bolton.
"It is not fair on Owen Coyle with the December fixtures that he has but he [Cahill] is one extremely talented player, although it would be stupid for us to restrict our targets to just one."
Cahill has been considered to be one of the most talented defenders in the Premier League. However, with him being a Bolton player, he has failed to live up to his true potential.
The defenders opportunities in the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 squad have been highly limited and with him looking to try and improve on a personal level, it seems like it’s only a matter of time, before he pushes for a transfer.
With http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 being the only team currently interested in landing the player, there is a very high probability that Cahill would be spotted wearing a Blue jersey, starting January.
